What Are Excess Construction Charges or ECC’s?

We are often asked about ECC’s so here is a quick crash-course to explain what they are, what they cover and what implications they might have for any order you place with SoConnect or any other telecoms provider.

ECC stands for Excess Construction Charge- that’s essentially what it is. ECC’s are excess costs identified by a site-survey prompted by an order for one of our services. The charges apply to whatever work is required in order to achieve delivery of the service you order into your premises. This work covers anything from laying additional cabling, drilling into or through walls, installing or clearing underground ducting and any other required work of a similar nature.
