We are currently recruiting for a Support Technician. SoConnect is a data networks and telecoms reseller whose focus is on delivering high bandwidth data connectivity to businesses so that they can utilise our complete range of hosted and cloud based communications services.

The service delivery technician will be responsible for delivering an efficient support service as required by the department. The role will involve:

  • Taking and receiving service requests and managing the issues through to completion with our internal team and range of external supplier to agreed customer expectations.
  • Ensure 1st class service is delivered to our customer base across our product range which includes the following technologies:
  1. All flavours of Internet Circuits form ADSL to SatDSL to Fibre
  2. Local Area Networks, MPLS, Network device configuration
  3. Hosted IP Telephony
  4. Hosted MS Exchange
  5. Mobile Telephony Systems
  6. Hosted Desktops
  7. Active Directory
  8. Virtualisation
  9. Cloud Technologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and pitch the conversation to their level and manage their expectations effectively.
  • Control the acceptance of new provisions into service to ensure this stage of the customer boarding process has been carried out correctly.
  • In addition to this, you will be expected to look for continual improvement in everything we do as well as investigate potential sales opportunities during interaction with the customer.
  • General office duties

As we are a small and growing business, the successful candidate may, at times, be expected to get involved in other office activities or work with other teams.
One of the key criteria will be someone who has energy and can work in a constantly evolving and growing company.

Essential

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft applications e.g. office suite and outlook.
  • Understanding of internet connectivity solutions
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a close knit team, but also be able to work autonomously with the drive to delight our customers.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be thorough and conscientious in their approach to task fulfilment.
  • Logical problem solving skills
  • Have a positive can do attitude.

Desirable

  • One or two years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • ICT qualification with knowledge of some or all the following:
  1. IP Telephony, VoIP and SIP Trunking
  2. LAN, WAN, VPN, Wifi Networking and Router Configuration
  3. Hosted Cloud Solutions (contact centre, hosted desktop)
