Claim your £2,500 voucher today
Full fibre broadband connections offer the fastest and most reliable speeds available, and the government is committed to a vision of a full fibre Britain. As part of this commitment in March 2018 a £67 million Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme was announced.
Gigabit vouchers can be used by small and medium-sized businesses to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit-capable connection.
Businesses can claim up to £2,500 against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project. One gigabit is the same as 1,000 megabits – so it’s a big leap forward in connection speeds that could benefit you and your business into the future.
Rural Gigabit Vouchers
In the 2018 Budget, the Government announced an additional £200m for Rural Gigabit Connectivity. This included funding towards gigabit vouchers targeted at rural and harder-to-reach areas.
As part of a group scheme, eligible businesses could benefit from a voucher of up to £3,500 towards the costs of implementing Ethernet connectivity. Which voucher is your business eligible for?

More about Gigabit Broadband Scheme
The internet connection supplied by SoConnect must provide the following in order to provide a step change in business-grade performance:
Offer a minimum of 100Mbps and be capable of being upgraded to a gigabit connection.
Must at least double your current internet speeds when compared to your business’s current business grade connection e.g. Ethernet Leased Line.
If you are upgrading from a Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband connection e.g. Fibre broadband, FTTC or VDSL then the doubling of speed does not apply when upgrading to a business grade Ethernet Leased Line connection.
If your business is eligible the voucher can be put towards the following costs up to a maximum of £2,500:
New circuit connection costs
Planning & survey costs
Excess construction charges (ECC’s)
Payment for vouchers will be made directly to SoConnect Ltd, not to you or your business/organisation. SoConnect Ltd will notify The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport when your connection has been delivered. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport will check with you that the connection has been delivered before payment is issued to SoConnect Ltd. You will be required to make a declaration that the new service has been installed and is performing as expected. If you do not make this declaration, we will not be able to pay your voucher.
The voucher cannot be used to pay VAT. The voucher cannot be used to support any ongoing costs following the installation of your connection.
The voucher has a maximum value which can be claimed against the installation charges of your connection. The maximum voucher value for an SME is £2,500 and the minimum value is £500. If your installation charges are above £2,500, then you will be liable for paying the difference to SoConnect Ltd. If the installation cost falls below £500 your connection will not be eligible for voucher support. Where applicable, residential vouchers will have a value of £500.
Vouchers are for one-off installation and set-up costs only, as agreed with SoConnect Ltd. These costs may include installation fees; external infrastructure equipment; excess construction charges and engineering works; and set-up and survey costs. All registered suppliers have signed up to a set of terms and conditions which clearly set out what installation costs are eligible or ineligible under the terms of the Scheme.
Computer and ICT equipment cannot be claimed for under the Scheme, nor can revenue charges for storage/back-up/application usage such as those made available through cloud services.
You cannot benefit from a voucher to support the costs of a connection you already have or to replace a connection which is already gigabit capable. Anything you spend before the date of your voucher offer cannot be claimed back.
The Scheme cannot pay for any cancellation charges incurred either for early termination of an existing contract or for cancellation charges associated with a supplier offer that you choose not to accept.
Any existing connection already capable* of 1Gbps or above in either direction is NOT eligible to benefit from a Gigabit Voucher.
This does not apply in cases where for customers consuming Business Grade services only, the voucher enables new NGA Gigabit capability from the same network infrastructure provider which was not previously available to them.
* “Capable” means capable of delivering 1Gb connectivity using any technology. Speeds are upload or download, not necessarily at the same time. Wireless technologies are only permitted when included as part of an agreed Project Pre-Registered Package and which leads to the deployment of additional full fibre.

Don't just take our word for it, here's what our customers think:
“We chose SoConnect as they were very patient with us and always kept us up-to-date throughout the order process. Installing a high-speed leased line will make a huge difference to our working day as our current internet connection is very unreliable and slow. We’re very impressed with the seamless connection voucher process and we’ve already recommended SoConnect to other local businesses.”
” A fast and reliable internet connection is crucial for us to enable to provide effective support to our customers. FTTC was not an option and our existing ADSL was just too slow. The leased line provided us with the solution we needed and with an SLA. When we are seeking telecoms solutions either for our customers or us, we just want to talk to people that listen and get us the first time. SoConnect is big enough to provide the broad range of solutions at market prices but small enough to care about their customers.”
