The Business Challenge:

Imtech regularly open new, short-term project offices for sites across the UK. The difficulty they have faced is finding a suitable telecoms partner to provide BT based PSTN (phone) and DSL (Broadband) services into these sites efficiently and cost-effectively.

As a result of several service implementations of this nature, SoConnect now provide Imtech with high speed internet connectivity at their office in Lancashire (FTTC) and their permanent site in central Manchester (leased-line).

Background & Solutions:

SoConnect’s relationship with Imtech began in October 2012 when Imtech approached SoConnect regarding a data connectivity requirement for a new project site in London. This resulted in the provision of an EFM Quad circuit. A few months later, the same service was ordered for another similar project in another part of London.

Why did Imtech choose EFM?

Where available, EFM is ideal for Organisations requiring a quick installation or who envisage problems in delivery of fibre-based services. There was a considerable cost saving in comparison to Fibre, while also offering reliable uninterrupted Internet connectivity. An EFM solution also seamlessly supports voice and data traffic, complete with an attractive 6 Hour Service Level Agreement.

Having installed two EFM circuits for sites in London, Imtech recognised the added value of SoConnect’s experience in providing advice & guidance on the availability of data connectivity services elsewhere and began working with SoConnect in providing Broadband services to several of its project sites across the UK.

Why did Imtech choose Business Broadband at some of their sites:

This service can allow for Unlimited data transfer allowance, while achieving speeds of up to 16Mb download and 1Mb upload. This is an ideal solution for a site of 10 or less users. This can be suitable for use with VoIP and assured call quality available for multiple simultaneous calls. Our customers receive dedicated support from SoConnect’s experienced technical team.

The Product:

Implementation of an EFM Leased Line (Manchester site), FTTC (Lancashire site) and Business Broadband (multiple sites).

If FTTC (Fibre Broadband) is available this can also offer:

In areas where FTTC is available, these are noted to have greatly improved upload and download speeds. As a result of this and of the circuit make-up, this service proves to have a consistently better performance than ADSL. This better connection is ideal for streaming videos as well as for data and document sharing. This also improves access to Hosted Cloud services allowing for reduction of infrastructure costs.

WHAT IMTECH LTD HAD TO SAY:

Having had difficulty in the past with telecoms provision, SoConnect have been a breath of fresh air for Imtech and are now a trusted and valued business partner.
