Unrivalled speeds
Leased Line can offer speeds up to 10GBps. What could your business acheive with lightning fast internet?
What are Leased Lines?
Leased Lines (also known as Ethernet over Fibre) are data connections that are dedicated with fixed bandwidth. The ‘leased’ part of its name refers to a company renting the line from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). A leased line must have symmetrical upload and download speeds and be uncontended – that is not shared with others.
How do they work?
The data travels along a fibre-optic cable from the ISP to the local exchange and finally to the premises. This differs from other broadband products that use analogue copper lines.
How fast?
Data travels on a fibre line at the speed of light! It literally could not go any faster. Because a leased line is not shared with other internet users, the sky might be the limit in terms of what speeds you’ll see (okay…up to 10GBps).

Leased Line FAQs
What are the delivery times?
Subject to a site survey, delivery times can range from 35 to 65 working days. We will check what delivery time you can expect in your area. Our team will also keep you updated from the order through to the provisioning of your service.
Why should I choose Leased Line over EFM?
Leased Line offers more flexibility than EFM as services can easily be re-graded during the contract term. The only cost involved when upgrading the Leased Line connection is a corresponding increase in rentals and a possible router upgrade if required. Leased Line is a genuinely bespoke connectivity service, and we can also customise your service. EFM, however, is restricted to the speed the local network can offer.
Will Leased Line be available in my area?
The UK’s fibre network is constantly growing, and most locations can now provide fibre services. Contact us to check availability at your location.
What's the difference between 'wires only' and 'managed' Leased Line?
We offer a ‘wires-only’ option, just the connectivity, or a ‘Managed Service’ option that includes a managed router. The routers we offer are dependent on the bandwidth required. Please contact us for further information to see what option is right for you.
How many IP addresses can you get with Leased Line?
Eight IP addresses are allocated as standard, with six being usable. You can also apply for additional IP addresses at the time of order for a one-off fee.
